Saint-Gobain SEFPRO provides a complete range of products for all types of expendables. They are mainly manufactured by slip cast process, but also by fused cast and vibrocast processes.
Expendables are the very last refractory pieces in contact with the glass, and as such must display the highly specific properties of good corrosion resistance, low blistering rate and low stoning rate.
Therefore, for the manufacturing of expendables, Saint-Gobain SEFPRO places particular emphasis on :
- glass contact properties
- geometry and dimensional precision
- strict, permanent follow-up of quality.
In addition, as expendables is actually a "service Market" where fast response time is imperious, Saint-Gobain SEFPRO has managed :
- a customer service dedicated to expendables, located on the production site
- a large stock of standard pieces.
Saint-Gobain SEFPRO series of products includes eight groups of sintered products and two groups of fused cast products.

SINTERED SILLIMANITE, MULLITE
In this product line, the proposal of Saint-Gobain SEFPRO are :
- ARKAL 60V , a 61% Al2O3 vibrocasted product, mainly for : Spout burner blocks, Spout cover blocks, Mantle blocks, Black blocks, Damper blocks
- ARKAL 60PR , a 68% Al2O3 pressed product for : Skimmer blocks, Lip blocks, Flow blocks for rolled flat glass, mandrels for Danner tubing
- MS 60 L, a 61% Al2O3 vibrocasted product, semi light, dedicated to Spout cover blocks, where a good insulation is requested.
- CRA, a Mullite slip-casted product, specially dedicated to the manufacturing of DANNER process mandrels for lighting or pharmaceutical tubing and orifice rings for soda-lime glass tableware.
