Insulation Glass Fiber is primarly used for domestic sound proofing and heat insulation.
In the recent past, the development of biosoluble glass compositions proved to be more demanding on furnace refractories.
Saint-Gobain SEFPRO has participated from the very beginning in the development of these new glass wool compositions, by studying their impact on the refractory linings.

This has led to the development of a full set of sintered and fused-cast refractory materials, meeting the new requirements :
- Our ZIRCHROM® range (Zirchrom® 30, 50, 60 and 85), a unique family of Sintered Chromium Oxide refractories, showing an outstanding behaviour in contact with these very aggressive glass compositions,
- The accompanying ERCHROM Cast (30 and 60) monolithic provides a safety layers that insures maximum security against glass penetration,
- For flame furnaces superstructures, a combination of Fused-Cast AZS and ZIRCHROM® materials.
- A full range of unshaped materials
