Located in South of France, Saint-Gobain C.R.E.E. (Centre de Recherches et d'Etudes Européen), belongs to the sector of High Performance Materials of Saint-Gobain Group. It is an exceptional place where research results serve directly industrial applications.
The activity of this center is more specifically focused on the development of advanced ceramic products. Through its technical skills (tests, measurements and analysis) and administrative sections (library, patent rights, administration), the Centre gives on-going scientific, as well as logistical, support to its different Research teams.
In total, about 230 researchers and technicians are deployed in various laboratories and workshops which are fully-equipped in order to carry out physical measurements, thermal testing, chemical analysis, microanalysis, fusion of oxides and ceramic processing.
SGRS (Saint-Gobain Research Shanghai) is one of the major R&D centers of Saint-Gobain worldwide. It is located in the Minhang Development Zone, at the heart of its Shanghai industrial complex.
The center builds a strong technical competency in product development, in-depth scientific research and analysis, rapid response to business requests and frontline technology development. Equipped with modern scientific equipments, SGRS is taking part in fast-changing technical evolution.
The Saint-Gobain Northboro Research and Development Center employs 330 people coming from 27 different nationalities, including 200 scientists and engineers. Specialized for its research on construction materials, ceramics, plastics and abrasives, the center also strives to develop leading-edge technologies to promote energy efficiency in buildings.
Thanks to this $15 million investment, the space designed for offices and laboratories has been extended by 5,700 m². In this way, Northboro has become Saint-Gobain largest research center in the world.
Saint-Gobain Research India (SGRI) is the 7th cross-functional R & D center for the Saint-Gobain Group. This center develops transversal competencies including academic partnerships and interfaces with other R & D centers across the world to accelerate business growth.
SGRI works on improving manufacturing processes, from raw materials to adding new functions to our end product. SGRI does it through collaborative work, project management. Our researchers are quickly integrated into multidisciplinary teams and they take part in research program in collaboration with marketing and production.
The primary mission is to provide active and forward looking support for the Group's various businesses, leading to developments and innovations in terms of both products and processes, to serve our current markets and enhance our businesses' competitive edge.
The second mission is to contribute to the Group technological innovation and enable it to penetrate new markets. In line with the Groups' development and leadership strategy on housing and construction markets, it must support in the development of technologies to meet the challenges of growth, energy and the environment.
