SEFPRO at Conference on Glass Problems (GPC)

Glass manufacturers are always looking for technical solutions to extend furnaces life time. Monolithics are now used extensively on all the glass furnaces locations to fix weaknesses and provide additional months or years of production. We will discuss how Fused Cast AZS based monolithics can improve glass furnaces duration through high performance solutions to perform hot and cold repairs. For decades SEFPRO manufactures premium fused cast and sintered refractories for furnace constructions but we will discover how SEFPRO can also support glass makers during their cold stops or during hot repairs operations. The objective is to propose to the glass industry a quick solution to repair furnaces, to avoid energy losses, to shorten production interruptions and improve global furnace efficiency with sustainable repairs operations. Our repair options are also useful to reduce the global carbon footprint of the furnaces by avoiding to dispose used refractories.
Last but not least, when glass makers are sometime not fully ready to start an asset with new fusion technologies, extending the previous furnace life time can be seen as an option to finalize the best technical choice to switch to a greener fusion technology.
