ZIRCHROM 85
Sintered 85% high chrome
Very high corrosion resistance with high thermal-mechanical properties.
Typical application
ZIRCHROM 85 is typically used in high-wear areas. Having the highest thermal shock resistance among the high chromia product range, ZIRCHROM 85 is also applied in areas subject to high thermal gradient.
- Sodalime glass furnaces : throat, submerged wall, dog-house corner.
- Insulation fiberglass furnaces : throat, dog-house and and other high-wear areas including superstructure.
For crown application, refer to ZIRCHROM HC.
The superior corrosion resistance minimize the potential impact on glass coloration.
In the expendable applications, ZIRCHROM 85 apply in spouts, spout inserts, orifice rings for soda-lime glass as well as for opal glass furnace.
