ERCHROM 30 CAST
Chrome monolithic bottom solution
Chrome concrete with good corrosion resistance and electrical resistivity.
Typical application
Dedicated to insulation glass fiber furnaces.
ERCHROM 30 CAST is used in combination with ERCHROM 30 MORTAR as a safety layer under sintered Chrome or fused cast alumina-zirconia-silica (AZS) bottom to reduce risk of glass infiltration.
Chemical and physical properties

Instructions of use
Provide potable water for wetting.
Amount of water to use for temperatures between 5 and 28°C: 4.9 to 5.1% water in weight.
Spread uniformly through the 1rst part of the formwork to be vibrated. Leave a surcharge of approximately 1cm over the entire width to be vibrated, and over an approximately one meter length in the direction you are working in. Place the tips of the vibrating beam on the wood studs laid parallel to each other.
Keeping the beam perpendicular to the studs, activate the vibrator and using the two mobile handles, slowly slide the beam along the studs. Carefully remove any castable from the studs in order to avoid any excess thickness of the slab.
The castable is considered to be well vibrated when the surface around the pin turns shiny and is free from air bubbles.
If a vibrating pin is used (in sidewall and channel lining), plunge the pin into the layer of castable to be vibrated at regular intervals no more than 8 to 10 times the diameter of the pin from each other. Slowly remove the pin so that the castable can completely fill the empty space left behind. The castable is considered to be well vibrated when the surface surrounding the pin turns shiny and is free from all air bubbles.
When the ERCHROM 30 Cast is hardened, remove the wooden studs, and fill the empty spaces with ERCHROM 30 CAST, which must be vibrated with a vibrating pin.
Packaging and storage
- 25kg bag packaging
- Must be properly stored up to expiry date in undamaged original sealed packaging, in dry conditions at temperatures between +5°C and +40°C
