Chrome mortar for bottom solutions

Description

Chrome mortar with good corrosion resistance.

Typical application

Dedicated to insulation glass fiber furnaces.

ERCHROM 30 MORTAR to be applied on ERCHROM 30 CAST concrete safety layers. Its fine grain and narrow grain size distribution ensures a uniform layer.

Used also for jointing chromic oxide bricks.

Instructions of use

Provide potable water for wetting.

Amount of water to use (trowel-application): 10 to 12% of weight in water, for temperatures between 5°C and 28°C.

Carefully homogenize the mortar prior to applying. Use a paddle mixer if possible.

Apply the mortar with a trowel, spreading it over a 5mm thickness using a flat beam. To obtain consistent thickness, we recommend using flat or round metal sections, laid on the slab to serve as a guide as you progress.

Spread the mortar over a width which is slightly wider than one row of tiles, and over a length which enables a few tiles to be laid at a time.

Then, carefully lay the tiles on the mortar. You can either reserve space for the expansion joints required for the type of assembly planned, or you can lay the tiles up against each other to obtain a closed joint.

Carefully check that the mortar does not rise up between the tiles. We recommend using a vacuum pad to grip and lay the Chrome tiles.

Packaging and storage

  • 25kg bag packaging
  • Must be properly stored up to expiry date in undamaged original sealed packaging, in dry conditions at temperatures between +5°C and +40°C
