Typical application

C1215Z is mainly used in the critical high-wear areas of reinforcement and textile fiber glass furnaces including :

  • melter sidewalls, bottom paving and dog house corners,
  • forehearth and feeder side rails, flow blocks, bushing blocks and corner blocks.

The specific microstructure is designed to increase the thermal shock resistance for minimize cracking risk during furnace heat-up and operation. The inherent refractoriness of Cr2O3 combined with high density results in a refractory with excellent corrosion resistance against a wide variety of molten glasses and slags.
