MONOFRAX® CS-5 Epic-3 & DCL
Void-free electrofused alumina-zirconia-silica (AZS) with 40% zirconia
The alumina-zirconia-silica (AZS) material with highest corrosion resistance and good castability for various shapes and sizes. It is essentially free of casting cavities and allows a very homogeneous internal structure and corrosion resistance.
DCL grade apply typically for thickness below 150mm (6"" ).
This product is exclusively produced at the Falconer, NY, USA plant.
Equivalent to ER 1711 RT solution.
Typical application
The void-free electrofused alumina-zirconia-silica (AZS) with 40% zirconia, MONOFRAX® CS-5 Epic-3 & DCL solutions owe to a higher concentration of ZrO2 phase. They offer a very high corrosion resistance for a very large range of applications:
- glass contact sidewalls, electrode blocks and throat
- glass contact working end and feeders for corrosive glass
- critical superstructure areas such as tuckstones, port sills and arches
